Angelo Santilli -- Guitar, Vocals

Angelo attended his first concert in 1969 at the age of five when his brother took him to see Procol Harum. “I guess when you get exposed to live Robin Trower at such an early age, your fate is set.” Robin Trower would become an influence in Angelo’s playing, as would Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Robben Ford, Angus Young, and – of course – Stevie Ray Vaughan.  He joined his first band, The Boys, while in high school, and spent the next twenty years playing the local New York club circuit with a number of bands, including The Dead Birds, The Regulers, The Nomads, Childz Play, and The Rainbow Spirit, exlploring  a vast array of genres - Punk to Pop, Classic Rock to Gospel - along the way.

Angelo cites The Beatles as his all-time favorite band. “I grew up on Beatles music. They produced an astonishing amount of quality material in such a relatively short period of time, and while I recognize that each member of that band was a great individual presence, The Beatles were greater than the sum of their parts. That is how I view Guys Night Out. Individually, we all offer up our strengths, but as a unit – that’s where the magic happens!” His passion, however, is stoked by the Blues, and he is a disciple of the late Stevie Ray Vaughan. “Stevie Ray was special. The first time I heard Pride and Joy, I knew the direction of my playing was going to change considerably.” As a result, Guys Night Out has incorporated a vast amount of Blues music into their repertoire – some would even say that The Blues is the staple of the GNO sound. “We are a Blues band, first and foremost. We do play many different styles, but they all emit from an epicenter that is Blues music. That’s why I LOVE playing in this band!”
